HRC hopes for ‘several’ victories from Marc Marquez in 2013

Honda is hopeful that rookie sensation Marc Marquez will be able to win ‘several’ races in his first season in MotoGP next year. Marquez’s arrival in MotoGP is already one of the most anticipated and hyped of the modern era after he won the 125 and Moto2 world titles prior to his 20th birthday. The hard riding teenager has also impressed in...

Honda should be ashamed to talk like that.! didn't they do the same with Simo! simo finishing 3rd and nakamoto said: NOT ENOUGH!!!!! Simo kept pushing in the danger zone and now he's no longer with us.! Honda shut your mouth....we dont need no people dying because you push and expect things that can't be realistic.!!!! if you want to win the title HONDA try it the safe way.! you push riders to much. Looks like honda dont care riders die as long as honda wins the title.! what a bad company!

I don't know why you bring up Simoncelli here. Are you suggesting Honda pressured him so much that he ended up dying? Motocycle racing is dangerous. Even riding motorcycles fast on a trackday, by yourself, with no outside influences is dangerous. Simoncelli was a very unlucky and somewhat fool-hardy young man, who had a freak and terrible accident. No one was to blame for that. Motorcycle racing will never be safe; you can only try to make it safer.

Looking at Marc's previous..... He has a great chance of getting a race win, even in his first year..... We'll see. A lot can change quickly in moto GP.

Simoncelli crash was a freak accident and nothing to do with Honda putting pressure on him

3 wins in rookie year?

Clearly Honda think he has the necessary talent, - so it will come down to whether he keeps it upright over the 1st few rounds. If he injures himself early, even a broken ankle or such like, then that will hurt his confidence and his ability to ride the bike as it needs to be ridden AND be faster than the likes of Jorge Lorenzo.

If he keepsinjury free then I suppose anything is possible, but 3 wins in his rookie year would be exceptional by any standards.

obviously think that Marquez is the second 'coming'!   This is the yardstick for him to aspire to :-

Rossi's rookie season - 3 retirements, -  10 podiums including 2 wins and second in the championship with 209 points.  Rossi's main rivals that year were Roberts Jr. (Suzuki) Biaggi (Yamaha) and Barros (Repsol Honda).

Marquez main rivals will be Lorenzo - Pedrosa and Rossi - Can he make second (to better Rossi) or even win it ?  Depends on his ability to stay on it.

Man is this KID gonna ruffle some feathers in Moto Gp. I can't wait for the first race! With the Honda so good, i reckon he can even take the title. After all Dani screwes up 1 way or the other. Sometimes his fault, sometimes anotheres fault? Or some bad luck? Dani ain't got no Lucky charm. I reckon Marc Marquez will take the title first try.

Arse smacking time!

There is no doubt that MM is a prodigous and precocious talent...he will be MOTO Gp champion. But not this year. He will not be allowed to "bully" his way through like in Moto 2, the riders won't have it and race direction will be a lot firmer with him than in his past championship years....remember he was given a real wrist slap at Valencia for a dangerous move in qualifying. In my opinion 2013 is going to be more about which is the best 'bike......no doubt the Honda was better by halfway through 2012...if Yamaha havn't found more grunt out of the corner, the game's a bogey and DP will win it....if he stays injury free. As for VR46 and Jorge, this will be where most of next season's entertainment will come from. If only Ducati could build a contender,we would have a real spectacle again. Now just throw Cal into the mix and we might, just might have a season to savour.......can't wait!

As I've pointed out before, Dani won his 4th race in Motogp. Jorge won his 3rd and was on pole for the first race of the year.
