Vote for your MCN Man of the year

2012 was the year home-grown talent put the Great back into Britain with Cal Crutchlow, Tom Sykes, Danny Kent and Scott Redding enjoying major success on the world stage, and all four are leading candidates in MCN’s coveted Man of the Year competition. Coventry rider Crutchlow delivered a series of stunning performances in his second season in MotoGP, with the 27-year-old...

Not much choice!

How about giving us the choice to vote for someone outside motorcycle racing? Not everyone is interested in sport. We might want to vote for someone like John Bloor for his achievements with Triumph or Sam Manicom or Nick Sanders for their around the world travelling exploits and books and videos. Motorcycling is'nt all about fastest laps!

Just self-promo BS as usual...

Since when racers are heroes? Bunch of cry baby, over fed, over indulged, over paid bikers.

I know MCN is just a tabloid hence always thinking of ways of promoting its own agenda, whether sucking up to race sponsors and their advertising money, but this thread is insulting to anyone with even half a brain.

You want heroes, give us people who have done actual good in the course of the year, not gone around a freaking track a few times.

Give us options on people who have advanced the culture of riding.

We need options on people who brought a positive public opinion on two-wheels.

Get the picture?

MCN = $$$$ ONLY

Terrible choice as usual

Agree 100% with SHIVA, the adoration of the masses (or is it just MCN) for bike racers doesn't make any sense at all. There are so many more worthy people out there in the real world who would merit being on this list. Narrow minded jingoism regarding which racer you support is more suited to mindless football supporters. Who cares about X or Y rider being born in Britain, when he's certainly not living there ever again. Probably living in Monte Carlo or some other soulless tax haven.

Snev!

Glad to see you are still with us after the disappointment of Dec 21st! Thought you had caught that flying saucer leaving from the south of France.Business as usual then. And yes, if there is a worthwhile woman of the year, she should be on the list as should dozens of others.

@ snev

If you allow USian women on the list, Elena Myers was the first woman to win a professional event at the Daytona International Speedway (and first woman to win an AMA professional road race) and Shayna Texter was the first woman to win an AMA professional flat-track race; both in 2012.
