Did you know..that in 2003, The factory Yamaha team failed to podium at all?

Barros on the satellite squad scored the only podium(3rd) for Yamaha, at an early season French GP riddled with retirements. They had six bikes on the grid all year long. Checa was best in 7th, the rest finished 9th, 10th, 12th, 15th & 16th.  Yamaha hadn't won a title for 11 years.

Yes..that's the same Alex Barros who is credited for the Yamaha turnaround having identified a peaky engine, down on power. Which is like saying Cal is responsible for Jorge's bike getting a seamless shift box because he talked about it in Australia.

2004..Rossi won the title with nine victories. Factory team mate Checa finished 7th without a podium again. The satellite tech 3 bikes of Melandri & Abe - no slouches - were 12th and 13th respectively in the standings.

They've done better than that..and built a bike around an engine designed for another concept altogether. They cannot put weight inside the magic triangle Furusawa lectured Preziosi over, without compromising other vital geometric givens. Swinging arm pivot and g/box output sprocket position, swingarm length and wheelbase.

Ducati have let some great riders walk because of their fabled do now't, bull-headed philosophy.

Contrary to popular orange fanboi opinion, Audi realise this too and have started to put different management structures in place that are less dogmatic.

What you always fail to acknowledge Wosi is that Rossi was a clear #1 rider for Yamaha until 2009 when Lorenzo got an equal machinery contract. The Tech3 Yams in 2004 were 2003 machines, no cross plane reverse crank and special Michelins for them and no special Michelins for Checa either.

The reason Rossi left Honda was because they wouldn't give him that #1 status that he felt he earned and he spat his dummy when Gibernau started to give him a hard time on an equal bike.

Stoners only advantage in 2007 was the Bridgestone tyres, and then only at certain tracks. Capirossi had them as well and couldn't ride like Stoner could as he had a 250 front end style, same as Rossi and Melandri.

Without that tyre advantage Stoner was fighting even harder for wins on a bike with little front end feel against one with all the feel, and now grip, that Rossi wanted.

On the Honda 2011 Stoner dominated on a bike developed around Pedrosa with everyone on equal tyres, in 2012 the tyres were changed on a so called safety issue that didn't exist except for Ducati and it's non existant front end feel that it always had.

And who is Bridgestones development rider ? And who is Bridgestones face for advertising and marketing ? And who was doing f*ck all on the Bridgestones ?
