Jorge Lorenzo has come a long way since he was a carefree and crash-happy MotoGP rookie in 2008. Eager to show he was a natural successor to Yamaha’s incumbent number one Valentino Rossi, Lorenzo spent almost as much time in the Clinica Mobile as he did on the podium in a bone-crunching first season. So when he got his hands on a...

Lorenzo was handed the title in 2010 with the Rossi crash at Mugello and was handed the title again in 2012 with the demise of Stoner. Maybe he'll get a proper crack at winning the title in 2013 against some competition; it would be nice to see if he can actually do some proper racing.

Desmo head - I don't think so

A pneumatic airhead of a comment that was. Lorenzo crushed Rossi mentally 2010, which is why Rossi tried his 'him or me' bleat to Yamaha. But like the boy who cried wolf, this time Rossi's panto tanty bluff was called.

No easy title

Lorenzo had his hands full in 2012. He single handedly had to fend off or split a pair of rampant aliens weekend in and weekend out to get this one. Spies' side of the garage couldn't alleviate the situation.

2010. Lorenzo was leading the title chase before Rossi binned it at home. Opening round 2010.

Stoner loses the front while pulling away. The injured Lorenzo closes to finish second to Rossi in the race.

That was the last thing Rossi expected and set the tone for 2010.

Nostrodamus Why So Bent Outa Shape

Well did your partner leave you for a Rossi fan or are you just one of those guys that just likes conflict rather than just appreciating all these guys for thae maga talents that they are.

You seem to know a small amount about racing but surely you can't be one of those complete und utter know nowts that does'nt think Rossi was and to be fair still maybe a mega talent, As we really don't know if he's lost his ability to win yet !!!!!!

Nobody is given a title Desmo

Jorge won two titles fair and square by riding consistently, smoothly and like a boss. Rossi's been beaten fair and square. Even Hayden beat Rossi fair and square, as he was very consistent despite only winning a few races in his whole MotoGP career. The myth of Rossi's Superman qualities has had it's web completely unravelled. He is a great rider who won most of his titles at a time when there was little by way of fierce competition. He also had the fortune of inheriting the best rides and the best team. He never had to work his way up and good luck to him for that. Despite all his talent, he couldn't win on the Ducati, despite having more frame upgrades and changes made to the bike thanany of the previous riders ever had.

.....won 3 times....twice at laguna when it was first introduced and assen i think it was when rossi broke down and edwards fell off to gift him the win......hayden didn`t beat rossi or anyone for that matter, events happened that allowed the title to fall into haydens lap....he got the title with the the least amount of wins ever recorded....which was one.......don`t get me wrong hayden is a nice guy,but that title was a freak championship out of all proportions

Lorenzo 2013

It's going to be much harder in 2013 for Lorenzo, since 2010 he seems to have lost a bit of aggression which I really admired about him. He's going to have to take a few more risks next season if he's to win another title, with Pedrosa looking as fast as ever, Marquez coming up, and Rossi returning to Yamaha.

Yes I try to watch MotoGP but it's sometimes difficult to stay awake after seeing the scintillating action in Moto3 & Moto2.

There is no question as to Lorenzo's talents he is a fantastically smooth rider (apart from when tailing James Ellison) and it is a great acheivement to gain 2 world titles but I don't think he was really challenged hard which is a shame.

Have you ever watched any of the golden era 500 GP races (late 80's early 90's) that's what we need to get back to in MotoGP?

Suggest you drop the infantile name-calling it doesn't add anything to the discussion and people can always retalliate with something better.
