STREET TRIPLE 2013

I have recently taken another look at the latest Street Triple R in my local Triumph dealers, having given it the once over at Motorcycle Live in November.

I have now come to the conclusion, that I don"t find it very attractive as regards overall appearance. I"m sure that performance-wise, it remains as always, up there with the best, but, I can"t say that I am impressed with the colour schemes, as they look a bit "drab" to me.
I would also like to know who had the idea of tack welding on to the exhaust can, what can only be described as a piece of "tin plate" . Surely a bike costing over 7 grand new, should at least be finished off in a more "eye pleasing" manner, sorry Triumph but I wont be rushing out to buy one.

Preunit, maybe not but.....

I got talking to a couple of fellas at a local bike meet, one on an Aprilia Tuono and the othe other on a KTMDuke 690 and they said the Duke struggled to keep up at 90+ speeds on the straights. But they both laughed at the cost of filling the Mille being double.

Seemed to stack up with the 70mpg the Duke rider was claiming. Or maybe it was an excuse for buying one?

Triumph copied...

BMW with the Explorer and Trophy, are copying Harley's Fat Boy with the Thunderbird which is fair enough but why did they style the new Street Triple R on the Suzuki Gladius?Do people really consider mpg when buying a bike? The claimed figures are always a long way off the true figures and mpg varies hugely depending on how you ride.Mpg has never mattered to me,fill it up,have fun until the warning light comes on,fill it up and have more fun ad infinitum.

I know if it did............

70mpg, I'd be out on it more often than if it did 35mpg.

I am not short of the brass but if a day out costs £20 as against £40 how many days out are you going to justify to your good lady who's wanting other things?

The stripple is imo a fantastic bike

but, it's fuel consumption really lets it down.

Like Gunger says, he gets similar mpg from the one of, if not the most powerful sports bike.

I wish!

Back to the point.
The folk who say they don't care about mpg usually own bikes that do 2k miles a year, or less.

If I did that, it wouldn't bother me either.
