How many owners is to many?

Right I have seen a nice Yamaha sv 125 for £750 with 15000 miles on the clock, in above adverage condition. It's a 1993 k reg but has had 10 owners, is this to many for the age of the bike?

My dad thinks 10 is too many, but he knows nothing about bikes!

Has it any service history

or old mot's to back up that mileage?.

It's not so much the # of owners but how it's been looked after.

So, a 20 year old 125 which has had 10 owners, done only 15,000 miles, call me cynical but i doubt that's the correct mileage , might be wrong tho.

the number

of owners dont really mean much ( usually ) when your talking of a 125cc bike , as young ens like yersen tend to get em pass their tests on em then chop em in for a larger bike usually , but same as the others have said the mileage seems a bit on the low side ( for "bit" read a fuggin LOT ) , but go check it out if its been looked after & serviced fairly regular the mileage dont mean much

Quality over quantity

If it's in good nick and the right price 10 owners and 15k miles for that age doesn't sound that bad for a 125cc. As Weasel said many 125cc riders don't keep them long so will upgrade fairly quickly. My sister bought a brand new Yamaha YBR 125 earlier this year, has done little over 600 miles on it and is already selling it. Take that use over 20 years and provided each owner has looked after it reasonably it sounds about right.

However I'd still use it to your advange though. Try and haggle down on price, say you can get newer examples with less owners for that sort of money.
