New bike ordered!

I ordered my new bike yesterday - a BMW R1200 RT SE.  I should be picking it up on January 12th.  The ferry to Spain in July is already booked too!!

R1200

Now that Kate and I are planning to some trips together I needed a tool for the job.  We tried the Pan but I didn't really like it and the BMW has more toys on it for a similar price.  And Jaffa, riding through France has little appeal - I would rather spend 24 hours on the boat and arrive in Bilbao.

We have some frinds who are touring by bike for the first time coming with us so I am looking forward to the summer.  Let's hope it is a little dryer than it was this year!!

up here

the past fifteen years have been on average, 150 mm wetter than the previous fifteen. The eastern part of north Yorkshire is one of the drier parts of the UK. Some parts of Cumbria have had over 1400 mm, we' 've only had 900 and some.

Good weather to enjoy the new bike MM

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that it won't be snowing on Jan 12th!
