bike rack

i'm new to biking and only been riding since april i own a new bike my warranty runs out in 16 months time i'm doing a tour around scotland next and i'm after some more luggage iv'e been looking at some racks to strap down a throw over i own a throw over for my pilion and i'm just wondering can i fit the rack myself with bike being still under warranty or does have to go into the shop while still under warranty? i own 2011 ER-6F

Fitting a rack yourself would not invalidate your warranty provided that it is fitted properly and in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.
