It's my first bike VL800 K5 and unfortunately had a problem yesterday. 
After 2 weeks under cover, motorcycle started ok and I manage to drove around 500 m then engine stopped and lights went dead.
When I turn ignition key headlamp worked fine but there were no lights on dashboard (oil, miles counter etc.) apart from green for neutral gear and engine wont start.

When I try to start motor turns over, headlamp dims for a second but it wont start.  The dashboard lights are still gone.

I've recharged battery but didint help.
Any advice what else I could check, look for to solve that ?

Shagged battery, what's the battery's resting voltage?

full charged it should read 12.6-12.7 volts, if it's reading 12-12.1 ish then bin it (oops recycle it :smile)

Could it be a blown fuse due to all this rain we've had? It happened to me once. Main fuse in my case. Ignition fuse in yours, perhaps.

Hi thanks guys.

Indeed it was fuse on fuel, probably due to jet wash I did , maybe it got into ignition. I fliushed it with WD40 and hopefully will be fine now. Run it for around 10 min and workd
