Short of getting JL on it I think Dovi is the best rider for the Ducati role... he's ridden the championship winning bike for the last 2 years so knows how it needs to ride to be competitive. Rossi's had his go & failed & I don't think Dani could make the transformation... is there any better qualified rider?

gets on a two wheeled pay cheque, he's history as far as taking a title or a podium goes, he had the cream of the Honda's and a sweet M1, now he's on a career finisher, end of story.
