if this is true

The people of Scotland are said to be having an identity crisis after it turns out the haggis was in fact invented in Lancashire, England.
This was further confounded by the fact that the bagpipes originated in the middle east and the kilt was just something gay Gordon fancied wearing.

but is it true......

that original pasties had meat n veg in one end and a sweet in the other? like a complete meal in one pie....

also i am led to believe that they were made with the large folded crust to be used as a handle, so the tin miners could hold the crust and eat without the need to wash hands etc and then would throw the crust away rather than eat 'contaminated' food... this may be true, or it may just be rumour and old wives stories... not sure..

Roger

Come on me aaandsome. Everyone knows that Paaaasties weren't actually "invented". They were "discovered" by the Dewdney Brothers when they were playing bowls against Francis Drake on Plymouth Hoe.
