Sport & rivalry.
'Endearment' may be pushing the boundaries of imagination for some here but, Bert is right to a large degree.
Sport is all the better for intense rivalries..Ali/Fazier, Borg/McEnroe, Rossi/ Biaggi, Gibernau, Lorenzo, Stoner.
Of course these rivalries will throw up strong emotions and yes..perhaps some choice language. We're all big boys mainly and have heard and been called worse in the real world.
Stoner has been a fantastic addition to the paddock and I'm sad he won't be competing next year. The lad was and still is a huge talent who has without doubt deserved his success and proved his mettle in the heat of battle..mostly.
The fact that he's an Aussie adds another layer of intensity and gives a Pom the opportunity to wind up a nation famous for it's whingeing bad losers who are great at dishing it out but, struggle when the tables are turned.
Sure..Rossi ain't a Brit, but we haven't had a rider in the same class as these two for over 30 years, so he'll have to do.
Rivalries like this should be embraced by fans as the competitors go toe to toe..they are not everyday occurences after all.
It is a shame Casey seems to have ducked out, for whatever reason, at the height of his riding powers. He was fast..very, very fast.
But I'm pished his lack of mental fortitude and the fact his bollocks have barely dropped, have denied a spectacle that could have been up there with the very best this game has ever seen..sorry little cocksucker.
