Brake Light Not Working on Footbrake

I have a 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600 and noticed today that the brake-light doesn't come on when the footbrake is in use, im new to motorcycling and have only ridden the bike since Dec after passing my Mod2.
Is it a reasonably simple fix, i am quite handy with the old toolbox !

brake light

If the light works when you apply the front brake, the rear brake light switch could be faulty/dirty. It's bolted just above the rear brake pedal, and usually operated by a spring. Give it a spray with wd40, and manually operate it for a while. Hopefully that will sort it, if not, they're only a few quid for a new one. Make sure it's adjusted correctly too. As in, it does move when you press the pedal.  :smile
