Project 400!

Right after turning 17 and getting my self a 125 and with the new laws on age restrictions passed it looked like I'm never going to get my leg over anything bigger untill I'm 19. So my question to you guys is what is a good bike as a long term student budget project?

I'm looking at a 400 as that's what the new laws dictate, budget around £1500. I like the look of the kawazaki zxr 400 but do you guys have any other suggestions? I am aware that most bikes in this price range will have been dropped or seen the Tarmac once or twice so I'm prepared! Plus I'm sort of mhicanicaly minded so don't mind getting stuck in with oil changes, sprockets, chains ect..

I loved everyone

of my 400's, had 3 CBR's and 3 ZXR's.  Just a little too low on the saddle, but great pocket rockets:smile

babyblade....

it's amazing what you can achieve with 2,000 man hours and 10 kilos of solvol autosol.  ...but at least he won't have been removing fairings and cylinder heads every week-end.....bike restoration,it's a bad habit to get into.:sunglasses:
