New battery?

I recently had problems starting my xr125 which was temporarily resolved by charging my battery and my electric start was noticeably stronger and started the bike quicker than ever, but the problem has returned after a week or 2. Is the battery definitely naff then or could there be a different problem?

Did you get a multimeter as suggested on here?

This will test the battery/charging system and any unwanted drainage on your bike.

Battery

Yeah more problems unfortunately haha. Yeah I have a multi meter, so I need a reading for when the bike is idle, revving and a reading for when I press the electric start? Also no my journeys are short but it's been such a short time since the battery was charged.

reading

You`ve forgot the main reading, that`s the battery before any running or charging, then when electric start (cranking) and so on.

Multi meter

The reading of my battery is 12.6 volts out of the bike. Surely the bike should start on that? Last time when the battery was completely flat the reading was loads lower than that it was 11 something..

Still won't start.

I wired the battery back up into the bike and took a final reading of 12.9v. As soon as I turned the key and the lights came on my volts dropped to low 10s, then I tried to start the bike and the electric start sounded flat and made the volts drop down to around 5v with the button pressed in, it sounded like it was trying to start the bike sometimes and other times was just a rattle.
