Take said cone and invert it.

Take a jug with measurements on the side, either litres or pints.

Fill cone with water from jug. You cxan then work out how much water is missing from the jug.

The amount missing from the jug is the volume of the cone.

Be sure to empty cone before using it for other purposes.

Of course this will be dependant on the temperature of the water and ambient air as these will have an effect on the volume in the cone. therefore temperature is a variable.
