bike repair

how long can i expect my bike to be away getting repaird after an accdent and going through the insurance company it has now been with them for 3 weeks

With regard to your question it will be down to a number of excuses Oops! sorry reasons as to how long the dealer takes.

What damage? What is found when the bike is stripped as this will definately be different to the estimate and this will have to be agreed with the insurance company.

Availability of spares, shipment of spares, number of teabreaks, amount of proper paying customers (insurance companies pay rock bottom prices).

Who is doing the paintwork if any is involved.

How hard you are willing to pester for the return of your bike, Note. this is not always a good idea if you want a good (ish) job done.

If it becomes a borderline write off it can take a good few months.

Then again you may be lucky a get a good repairer and have it bad in a reasonable timeframe of a month or two dependant on workload.
