Valentino Rossi shines on factory Yamaha return

Valentino Rossi made a brilliant return to Yamaha’s factory MotoGP squad in Malaysia today, the nine-times world champion ending the first day of 2013 pre-season testing with the fourth quickest time. Rossi showed a disastrous two-year spell with Ducati has not blunted his confidence or skills and the 33-year-old topped the timesheets for a period in the early part of the...

Don't get too excited...

... it's early days & slow going at the moment... Rossi's still quite a way down on his 2012 test Ducati time (2:00.824) but they're all way off Stoner's sub 2 min lap (1:59.607) from this time last year... the 2 days to go will tell.

oh boy...

every yellow mankini wearing motogp journalist  (and fanboy) has gone into a state of ecstacy after Flossi finished....wait for it..... .4 seconds behind a rookie and his former teamate!!

Anyways, the real star today was THAT rookie who has shown once again his exhililarting speed and his unbelievable adaptability to any race machine. If he can end the test around the top three then yeah, definitely the podium or the win will be on come Qatar.

well put old boy :-)  Read the post on crash.net on what Rossi had to say.  He's back all right.  Lets keep an eye on the people who slag Rossi off on here to see how quite they become.  As i read it.  Most of them are Stoner or Spies fans.  Not one of them shouted about Jorge or Ped.  Guess they all will have to pick another rider as Stoner quit and well Spies a never has been and never will be!

Above all though it can only be good for MotoGP to see Rossi back up the front and Marquez right up there with Jorge and Ped.

PS...... Where was Dovi on the great bike that is a Ducati!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ecstacy Ridge?

Quiet optimism I'd say. Marquez is a star, but so is Rossi, and Jorge, and Pedrosa, and if we can have 4 of them battling this year for race wins, and the championship we could just be on the verge of a great season.

Lets wait and see where they shake out after day 3, but if the gaps stay about the same it augurs well.

Love how Rossi haters only critisism now is that Marquez was faster. James Toseland out qualified Rossi in his first race, Lorenzo got Pole in that same race, Lorenzo's first also. Rossi won the championship. Why don't you stop desperately trying to critisise, shut the hell up and admit the fact that he's legendary and hugely popular for reasons which continuously show themselves. Shows how nieve and closed minded people are.
