Witnessed one of these going up the hill at Goodwood. Easily louder than the F1 cars that followed it later in the day, although I'm guessing this thing was closer to being on full throttle. What a shame there aren't more small capacity sixes around....

Was at the tt in the early eighties , I think it was, and was stuck in traffic in Douglas and heard this unbelievable sound and everybody looking over. It was Joey paddling a six out and heading up glencrutchery road on one, not sure if it was a 250 or a 297, but the loudest bike I have ever heard by a mile.
