Valentino Rossi ecstatic with Sepang speed

Valentino Rossi could barely contain his delight after he finished the Sepang MotoGP test with the third best time on his much anticipated return to Yamaha’s factory squad. After a disastrous two-year spell with Ducati, Rossi answered questions about whether he was still fast enough to challenge dominant Spanish duo Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo in emphatic fashion in Malaysia. The nine-times...

Put it to bed!

The Stoner Rossi arguments are raising their ugly heads again! FFS let it go! Although too early to tell, the season ahead looks really competitive and promising. Let's enjoy it, and may the best man win!

yes

This lools to be am amazing season. Dani is in championship form...he really made a step mentally last year. Their is a calm confidence about him already. I think he will pick up where he left off. Perfect timing too...marquez looks like real threat. He will probably crash a bit too much this year to be a contender, but im sure he will win more than once. The all spanish title battle could have interesting consequences, especially if marquez tries a few of his moto 2 moves on jorge or dani. Rossi could very well" pick-up-the-pieces" a few times this year. And rossi...hes as excited as marquez just to be there, and will be compettitive. All in all its gping to be an awesome year. Go dani...you will never have a better shot than this year!!

there is a kind of

Parallel to the 80'searly 90's racing. Casey/Jorge is like Spencer/Lawson. They traded titles for four years(83-86).Dan/casey/jorge is like doohan/shwantz/rainey in the early 90s. Lawson and spencer were replaced byrainey, swantz and doohan. Rossi will be replaced(or has been) by dani and jorge. They in turn will be replaced by marquez. But right now we are treated to a 3 generation overlap. And that hasnt happened since the golden era. Witness the next golden era!!

the overlap

Refers to eras of dominant champs...stoner is included of course. Hes like a freddy spencer...fast but flawed. Rossi and doohan never raced. Which takes us all the way back to the golden era! Bring on the racing!

amatuer psychology doesn't really appear to be your field. It appears you're actually sticking to type and merely letting off noxious gases once more.

Of course everyone has ego - but my context implied more. Some ego's are more rampant than others though, a factor most of us dislike in an individual. Others keep it well in check (one Dani Pedrosa). Others wrap it in grace, humility and respect (Pedro, Lorenzo and Stoner). Yamaha's nr.2 rider has only started exploring these more likeable personality traits in the last year or so.

Now we've thrashed the least damning of my Rossi descriptions, how about moving on to one of the others, say 'two-faced' ?

You're a little dumb yourself if you think Stoner could get near the front on the Ducati now.

In 2010 Nicky qualified ahead of Casey at Malaysia. In the warm up he was 0.4 seconds back of Casey. In the race, well Casey fell off again, but there you go.

So say even Casey is a second faster than Nicky on the Duke, that would put him 7th. Not that great. As fast as Casey is there are limits to what can be done, and that Ducati is limiting everyone who sits on it.
