Valentino Rossi ecstatic with Sepang speed

Valentino Rossi could barely contain his delight after he finished the Sepang MotoGP test with the third best time on his much anticipated return to Yamaha’s factory squad. After a disastrous two-year spell with Ducati, Rossi answered questions about whether he was still fast enough to challenge dominant Spanish duo Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo in emphatic fashion in Malaysia. The nine-times...

straight answers RF99?

That'll be the day. After the first day of testing nostro predicted the other 3 would turn up the heat and leave Mr Rossi behind.
Vale is just a fraction off Lorenzo after 3 days. What will happen when he builds on his confidence?
Where are the Ducati's bulto and nostro?
Just an extra few tweaks from a decent rider was all it needed eh? Dream on you couple of wallies.
Every Ducati hammered by 2 rookies.
You are both looking very silly already and the season has not even started.
Where are the usual haters by the way?
Gone awful quiet today.....

Nice post mate...hayden could barely hide his annoyance saying some thing like..."it would have been nice just to swap the fairings and have all the problems solved....the reality is thats just not the case". Dovi has that same haunted look that was on rossis face the last 2 years. And it is reeeeeeaaaall quiet these days...sign of true character....bad winner=real sore loser. Oh well lets enjoy the racing this year without all the noise polution that has plagued this site for 2 years. As we have all said before...a happy rossi is a fast rossi. He wont dominate anymore, but at least he can fight again. And ask jorge( catalunya 09) if its a good idea to write off rossi once he gets a sniff of victory! He will be there or there abouts all year, but if the 3 spaniards get in eacj other's way this year, the wily veteran will pounce!!

Got to take back what I said about pedrosa as he really has stepped up to the plate since the middle of last year.....I'd tip him for the title this year

I thought you were one of the brighter ones RF99

Surely it is obvious to anyone without an incontinence issue? What's to like about Rossi is surely a better question.

The man has an extremely ego driven two faced unsavoury machiavellian personality. All waves, smiles and arse pickings to the camera, and demands, tantrums (the list is endless), and control freakery in private in connivance with his dodgy Uncle Ezpeleta. He sucks all the air from any team.

Rossi might be the winningest MotoGP rider, but his complete inability to get any noteworthy results ( 2 wet podiums and one hugely advantaged dry one, zero wins in two years) on a difficult but competitive motorcycle severely mitigate his status amongst the greats of the sport. Not to mention this mythical set-up / development genius fable being totally blown apart. Poor old Dovi and Spies have two years of chaotic regressive 'development' to undo.

Nobody was more desperate for a time at Sepang One than Yamaha's nr.2 rider. Lorenzo and Pedro surely are keeping their power dry for Sepang II. Marquez, well he's just learning the ropes isn't he. That Marquez should perform so well so early was ordained a couple of years ago to all but the likes of dull old Buelli.

face it

rossi is only competetive when he is on the dominant bike of the past 6 years. He ran bsck to yamaha with his tail between his legs, and his mythical balloon has been well and truly popped.

i wouldnt count on the results rossi had at ducati not looking fantstic in 2 years time after Dovi's disastrous spell. could happen. stranger things have happened. too many people are too quick to give excuses such as "lorenzo and ped are keeping some in reserve" thats BS these guys dont keep anything in reserve they ride at 100% everytime. Some people on here are idiots.
