Valentino Rossi ecstatic with Sepang speed

Valentino Rossi could barely contain his delight after he finished the Sepang MotoGP test with the third best time on his much anticipated return to Yamaha’s factory squad. After a disastrous two-year spell with Ducati, Rossi answered questions about whether he was still fast enough to challenge dominant Spanish duo Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo in emphatic fashion in Malaysia. The nine-times...

How many years ago did rossi throw his helmet into biaggis face ? Start living in the present, your boy has thrown in the towel whereas rossi has risen to the challenge.

Nostrodamus...the real one was a crazy loon too...

Nostro, or "No-scrote" as he shall now be know, should give it up. Its/he/she/they are old in the tooth, long in the scrote! Never been anything never will be anything. A has been, a wash out a strange creature that probably has a ring it can't let go of either!!!! Sits there screaming "MY PRECIOUS 27", Lol. Well, Mr Stoner, the charismatic, lovable Aussie......yes, not really, has indeed "Gone Fishing". Nobody cares, nobody is having withdrawal symptoms, nobody is missing him because we now have Marquez who has the same bike, same speed and probably the bonus of a personality too. ;) Rossi on the other hand gets back on the Yamaha and basically wipes out the last two years in 3 days work. Nice. Back to normality. Rossi now doing what Stoner did; turn up and ride a sorted machine with no worries as to development anymore. Bonus points go to us all for not having to listen to the Aussie whinge about a lack of respect. Anyway, I'm not here to point out the obvious. We can let the racing do that now. On a final note it was a good job it was Rossi and not the Ducati....LMAO. Peace

It must be really gutting seeing rossi doing so well when you had written him off.

you seem to be under siege on this thread - duck down now and keep out of sight till after the racing starts.

Lots of people

on here seem to be getting carried away with Rossi's testing times, he was 4th quickest for the first 2 days on a bike he should know pretty well, contrast that with Marquez who is a rookie on a new bike. Rossi still a bit off D Ped & J Lo, no guarentee he will make up the gap.

I would love to see Rossi back up there mixing it and reckon there is a fair chance he will but I would say his test times were solid & promising rather than spectacular & Amazing.

Agree wholeheartedly MrKrabs - think it's too early to be coming to conclusions on Rossi just yet - but at least he is showing a lot of promise, and was able drop his lap times as the test progressed. 0.1 off Lorenzo is great, but 0.4 from Pedrosa shows there is still work to do.

Unworthy

So many of the comments on here, even if from grand sounding posters, are unworthy of the talents and steely comittment of the riders they either laud or deride. Casey was a great rider, Rossi is a great rider, Ago was great rider so was Sheene. Let's stop this childish slagging off because someone doesn't agree with me who was the greatest. For me, for the record, Hailwood and a certain Jarno Saarinen but for showmen who sold the sport and made it greater then it has to be Sheene and Rossi.

0.4 and no more. Rossi couldn't gain on Pedrosa, and now he's got a rookie on his tail - less than 0.1 away. It will get worse.
