Valentino Rossi ecstatic with Sepang speed

Valentino Rossi could barely contain his delight after he finished the Sepang MotoGP test with the third best time on his much anticipated return to Yamaha’s factory squad. After a disastrous two-year spell with Ducati, Rossi answered questions about whether he was still fast enough to challenge dominant Spanish duo Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo in emphatic fashion in Malaysia. The nine-times...

Must try harder..

Catalunya '07 was a belter and Stoners 4th win. He rode a great race and I can remember thinking at the time it was the first time he beat Rossi fair & square..well almost.

Stoner & Capirossi were fastest through the speed trap..10 kmh quicker than the Yamaha's. Edwards had the 11th highest top speed at the event, Rossi was behind him 13th. Ducati also had the Bridgestone advantage.

"Hold on..where was Capirossi?"..is the stock reply.

Well where the fk was Edwards?

PI '09..Rossi stalked Stoner - who wasn't in the title hunt after his poorly tumtum & fishing break and was doing the favourite win a few when it don't matter trick - He set the fastest lap and then let Casey go, to take 20pts and secure a valuable title points lead over Lorenzo, who crashed early.

It would have been a bit silly to throw away 20pts and your champoinship position..to race a rider well behind in the standings who didn't matter.

Hold on..didn't something very similar happen last year to somebody in Germany?

:laugh::winkie::tongue:

Bullshit, in spades

"Stoner & Capirossi were fastest through the speed trap..10 kmh quicker than the Yamaha's"

Capirossi (6th): 314.

Pedrosa (3rd): 312.9

de Puniet (5th): 312.3

Stoner (1st): 311.9

Rossi (2nd): 307.3

Edwards (10th) 303.6

Fastest speed has sod-all to do with racecraft.  Stoner won through superior racecraft.  Once again, my weenie munchkin, you try to present a little slice of bullshit-flavoured hatred as fact, and as usual - fail. But hey - full marks for predictably holding your ground! You lot have been entertaining us since Canute tried it on with the tide, and the old routine just reeks of nostalgia.

It's no wonder your last WC couldn't wait to get the hell away from the UK, though - Bazza wasn't a bullshit-tolerant sort of guy.  He came over here, where the men are men, ride fast and talk quietly.  It must have been a huge relief to get away from a place where the men are basically tits, shout everybody down and ride their fist.

Catalunya 07

Top speeds during a race can be distorted as a lot of slipstreaming is going on, if  a guy on a slower bike can stay tucked in and close coming out the corner then he can stay on the quicker guys tail by slipstreaming, the problem occurs when they come out the slipstream to try to overtake as they lose all the advantage of the slipstream (im sure everyone knows that) so when I look at top speeds I look at practice and warm up where slipstreaming doesn't occur so much

Catalunya 07 as follows

FP1 Stoner 319, Capirossi 316.6, Rossi 307.5

FP2 Stoner 321, Capirossi 318.7, Rossi 311.2

FP3 Stoner 319.6, Capirossi 317.4, Rossi 311.2

WU Stoner 320, Capirossi 317.5, Rossi 310.2

So the speed differance in a straight line between Stoner and Rossi on clear track was in fact about 10KPH

Ali generosity?

Think Joe Frazier would have something to say about Ali's generosity. Joe Frazier who helped out Ali when all others turned their backs on him. Gave Ali money, and fought for him to get his license back, petitioning Nixon. Then he beat him in the ring, and Ali showed his true colours, calling him an Uncle Tom, and a gorilla. Strong stuff in those days.

As for being the greatest, well he wasn't was he. That accolade goes unequivocally to Sugar Ray Robinson. From 1940 'till his first retirement in 1951 he had a record of 128 wins (84 KOs) and one loss to a much heavier LaMotta.

Ssshh..

Nasty stutter you've got there son..calm down.

Your anger seems to have gotten the better of your humour lately Farnarkle and it's pretty clear who's got the hatred problem.

Deep breath Pal..Chin up. He's gone and ain't ever coming back - If he's got any sense and not to make the Spencer analogies even more pertinent that is..

just viewed your link Wosi

Makes Rossi's performance even more remarkable. So what price race-craft now?   And the haters are gloating over a mere 0.4 of a second after the first test.

farnarkle -  Bazza went to Oz for the benefit of his health - no other reason.

the greatest

Rocky marciano retired undefeated.

All the Vietnam stuff derailed ali's career more than somewhat though.

diabolical73 (your iq)

I put it 3 times darling because I know you read it once with your left eye, once with right eye and finally with your japs eye when your knocking one out over your screen looking at a half naked sweaty picture of your beloved vale.....you obiously start to type your comments as you empty your ball sack.....that would explain why your comments have zero base in motogp facts......there's some special yellow vale catching cloths on ebay right now.....they even do an extra small size.....xxx
