puncture repair

A few weeks  ago I suffered a nail puncture :upset:on the crown of my Angel ST rear tyre with about 2000mls still on the tread but my local tyre depot said they could repair only Michellin tyres.  Why is this ?
What is the position with puncture repair kits ?

Welcome alteda, try and find a local motorcycle repair shop who can remove the tyre, inspect it,bore/ream the nail hole, fit a mushroom plug (from the inside) and vulcanise it,re-balance.

Mine was a rear Bridgestone (zr rated) with no further problems. £15.:smile
