Yamaha boss: No question Rossi will be competitive in 2013

Valentino Rossi’s impressive return to Yamaha’s factory YZR-M1 in Malaysia last week is proof that the Italian will be a major force again in the MotoGP world championship. That's the view of Yamaha boss Lin Jarvis after Rossi buried his own personal doubts about his potential folliowing a nightmare two-year spell with Ducati when he set the third fastest time during...

If Rossi wasn't a bike racer he could have been an assasin..

Assassins go about their work quietly bud. And always deliver the goods.

Vale would be in a coffin after his first assignment.

After Jerez 2005, Gibernau may well agree with you...

I think the last two years has forced him to take stock and we'll see less clowning. He'll clap his fans in appreciation when he's successful but there'll be no more trackside theatrics on the slow down. He's older and it doesn't fit with what he's trying to achieve from here on in.

I'd agree with you up to a point, but only because it wouldn't fit with a one-off win. To win one race, get embroiled in that nonsense again and make a show of yourself, but to then not win again, well, you're going to look a bit of a tool

I think if he won a few, became a regular winner again, then the clowning would return

Talking of clowns..

A little poetic license certainly seems to have got your Orange painted faces crying while trying to put a brave one on Rossi being competitive again?..haha.

This is what respected GP journalist, Michael Scott had to say about him in the movie "Fastest"..

"He's a charmer you know..star material whatever sport he'd be in. But apart from that..he's a ruthless killer. I always feel people need reminding of that. He really is a savage competitor...very dedicated to winning at almost any cost."

If you've not seen "Fastest"..Go and buy it tomorrow..

While your at it..stock up on the Kleenex. You're gonna need a pallet load this year.

competitiveness

Of course rossi will be competitive. There is absolutely no reason in the wide world why he wouldn't be.

Again, this will prove nothing about casey stoner though, other than perhaps the ducati was never a fantastic bike if it could hold back two such riders.

And yes wosi, stoner  was kind  to give valentino a birthday present by retiring and giving him a better chance of winning his 8th title.

Visortool..

You've a way to go before you achieve the status of Mr Scott judging by your pathetic attempt at a blogging site.

Copying and pasting links to fill up space by plagiarising others' hard work, just makes you an empty-headed idle leach in my book.

What a load of wank..?

Stunning insight you half-wit mongrel..now fuck off back to the bottom of the pool with the other mudsuckers.

quite right DF

Yamaha's new nr.2 should be competitive....with Bradl, Crutchlow and Bautista. Possibly even the Bologna boys. I wonder if Smith will race with him straight up as Toseland did?

There's plenty of reasons to believe nr.2 won't be competitive with Pedrosa, Lorenzo and Marquez.

Fastest..

..just panders to the fair weather fans of the sport by focussing on Rossi and virtually no one else. They understand that celebrity sells - that movie has nothing to do with merit, purely a financial vehicle for the film makers..

Let's not forget who JT out-qualified on his debut, eh?..which like testing, showcases a single lap that can mislead..

..just like Pedrosa's time at Sepang where, after setting the fast lap in cool conditions early, he couldn't get within half a second of it again..remind you of another Honda rider at the same track last year?..look what happened there!

Shame Toseland didn't have a factory bike from birth, with powerful sponsors lobbying for him to keep his seat while under performing..there's little doubt he'd have done a better job than Yamaha's #2 last year, the victim of a Nostrodamus jinx for fifth alien.

Be interesting to see if the Kiwi soothsayer will lead up the Antipodean FRR effort here at MCN this season?

His blind devotion to certain riders should ensure an easy ride for the rest of us if he does.
