Scott Redding seventh in first Moto2 showdown

British rider Scott Redding ended the first pre-season test for the 2013 Moto2 world championship in Valencia by setting the seventh fastest time in a three-day session dominated by Spanish talent. The Marc VDS Racing rider logged a best time of 1.35.293 to finish 0.716s behind pre-season title favourite Pol Espargaro, who led the way with a quickest lap of 1.34.577. Former...

Tech 3 bike still a pup then. Interesting that even in a series with supposedly equal machinery the flag on your passport can get you kit slightly more equal than your rivals.

Downbeat

Scott knows the poeple he has to beat are, in the main, midgets. So despite the weight rules he will be up against it this season. He must be disappointed not to be on the MotoGP grid.

I just knew it

It did not take long for the Fatty Brits to say we need something else for a fair fight. Weight additions is just not enough. When are they going to understand there's no talent at home. Wait....shhhhhh.......Do you hear Crutchlow saying he does not have a proper bike as the others......Oh Gawd Oh Lawd.....Haahhahahahahah.

Personally I can't wait for the new season to start, across all classes and from BSB, WSB through to Gp's it's shaping up to be a season hard to miss. Redding has a great chance to get multiple podiums this year and has a fair shout at the championship, Crutchlow isn't on factory spec machinery but 4th - 5th in the championship is a good, realistic target. I'm also looking forward to seeing whether Smith can do his ride justice, looking at the early testing times it would suggest his learning year should go just fine!

I'd like also to see Ducati find some time from somewhere to break up the Yamaha/Honda dominance......!

British Talent

I feel very proud of all our British riders. We may not have Moto GP world champions or world champions in other classes but we certainly do have some amazingly talented young riders who represent us very well.To say other wise is pure nonsense & sour grapes.

As for American riders ! I have nothing against any of them & I wish Ben spies all the best this season.I will not be drawn into an American vs British slanging match which some on here are trying to create.
