Honda open to Casey Stoner wild card deal in 2013

Honda has said it would give serious consideration to offering Casey Stoner the opportunity to step out of retirement and race in at least two MotoGP rounds in 2013. There has been speculation that Stoner could ride a factory Honda RC213V machine in a bid to extend his phenomenal winning record on home soil at Phillip Island, while also taking part...

The way for stoner to prove his god like abilities would be to wildcard on the duke. See how good he really is. Then there would be no arguments of different dukes from different years being better or worse. Come on Casey/Ducati. Sort it out!!!!! Doubt he would want to though because lets be honest he'd probably not do much better than valentino. Do people really think that Rossi, hayden, dovi, spies, iannone are bad riders? Common theme is a shit bike. Still would love to see what casey could do on it

The flip-side

Had it been Vale who'd retired, how many here would welcome a 'wild card' return for the 'GOAT'?

Just an observation.

stoner wildcarding on the ducati would fail drastically, he would be able to prove nothing because 07 was a fluke. ever since 2007 he failed on that machine and just crashed more and more as the years went by, a bucking horse that just fell at the first hurdle. and he only got the 2007 championship because no other bikes were competitive and he had a speed advantage down the straight by about a MILLION mph. honda and yamaha were still developing a competitive 800.

Sad to see. You were presumably once a proud rossi fan, and have now been reduced to peurile trolling about a rider who as you keep pointing out has retired, evidence that he has certainly gotten inside your head rather than of anyone getting inside his. Bereft of any substantive arguments against his ability and achievements as a rider, all you seem to be able to manage are schoolboy jibes about his appearance and personality.

Dislike him all you like, but there is a fairly major statistic for which you have no excuses or explanations, desperate sophistry by some of your cohorts notwithstanding, that of 23 wins on a ducati by him, none by that other rider.

It's a shame that many do not appreciate these facts bud. Their loss i guess. And they're 'lost' equally.

Oh well. There's none so blind as those who cannot see.

Can't see it

If Pedrosa and Lorenzo are in a tight battle for the Championship, would Honda let Stoner back for a couple of races late in the season which would have the potential to put a dent in Pedrosa's Championship challenge? Answers on a postcard please to .......
