250

I'd have to go for a 250 of some sort, for these mountain roads.

Problem is, I'd have my knees around my ears :upset:

There seems to be

some confusion...

I thought the original premise was you couldn't pick a 'sportsbike'?

In which case ...I would give serious consideration to a Diavel.` :winkie:

I think....

everyone thinks you mean what sports bike would they choose for the rest of this year, when I think you mean what bike would you chop your existing sports bike in for to keep you on the road.So ninja that little honda is off limits....you need a supermoto.and zanderh,it'll have to be the street tripleR for you and a Thruxton for me.:smile

Next none sports bike (???)

I'm working on the premise that I keep my current bikes that aren't sportsbikes and trade one of the sportsbikes in for something other than a sportsbike (?). In that case the Ducati Streetfighter appeals somewhat.

It is possible to get multiple 2nd hand bikes for the cost of one new one. Therefore having one or the other doesn't compute too much if you accept riding something 2nd hand

well

last year was my last year on a gixer 750 and now I have a shadow black spirit. ive had more fun on the spirit and so much less pain, no more having to jump on and off the seat to stop etc and can spend hours and hours in the seat without having to keep stopping to unbunch my muscles.

Darnit.

NO sportsbike?? Hmm.

In that case I've been curious about the FJR1300 & K1300GT.

(I confess, I missed the word 'next'!)

depends on what you want to get out of it

After years on various bikes, I chppped my 08 blade in in 2011 and got a VT750S.

Okay, it's not the fastest by any stretch, but still gets away okay at the lights and leaves cars behind, and has enough for overtakes on the real roads at legal(ish) speeds.

I'm actually riding better, planning lines and overtakes more, as can't just point and squirt like on the blade to get past, and I can give it a full twist with the right hand without worrying if there's a cop round the next bend with a speed gun, especially as over about 85 the wind reminds you how fast you're going.

No knee cramps, no bachache, just fun.

But then I never played those "I've got the latest / greatest model" games, shaved 100g off the weight (I'm a tubby b'stard), and don't really care what others think of me.

Why not try all sorts and just see what you like?
