Andrea Dovizioso latest victim of Ducati understeer issue

After Casey Stoner, Nicky Hayden and Valentino Rossi complained incessantly about Ducati’s long-standing understeer issue, it was only a matter of time before new recruit Andrea Dovizioso got a clear understanding of the Desmosedici’s Achilles heel. Understeer was the single biggest issue that restricted Rossi to just three podiums in 35 races and a cure has eluded Ducati from the Stoner...

Brianthelion

You are retarded, a bit like Dovi is retarded for not reading MCN and finding out that the Ducati is a barge months before riding it.  Shut-Up.

I think brianthelion is actually nostro. Can see him now infront of the mirror, in his wizard of oz based costume stroking his mane.. Rossi has mashed another head.. I wonder how dickish Dovi feels repeating the same old mantra of riders past.?? Does he really think things will be any different for him.?. Must absolutely suck to be in the ducati motogp team. WSBK doesn"t look much better, of course their one off lap pace in optimum condition is still great.. Ducati do you think Honda or yam gave a fuck what spec their street bike is when they build a motogp bike ?? no they don't though they may copy the motogp bike to an extent if it works in motogp.... not the other way round...sort it..

In the battle of reputations

Rossi has once again come out on top. He said(like everyone before him) that the bike was a piece of shit, and ducati responded(like everyone before him) by being too slow to develop parts in harmony. Yes they developed some parts; but if you dont also produce the complimentary parts to go along with said new part nothing happens. For example making adjustments to affect weight distribution ducati ended up raising crankcases too much which meant another part needed moving thus negating the original benefit. If you put awesome rotors on your car you dont get any stopping benefit until you put awesome pads to compliment the performance...In rossi's case ducati took a gamble by hoping someone else could do better than the DR. GOOD ON THEM for having the balls to roll the dice, but in this case....rossi was waaaaay faster and dovi was waaaay slower thus validating everything rossi said and making ducati look pretty stupid. Now everyone knows 2 things: rossi is still fast and the ducati still wont turn....

Good one mate! Ya our bike sucks so lets paint it and after analyzing sepang 1 data anew gas tank should set things right! Maybe they should take the foam off the seat next to save weight and to give the riders more " feel " for whats happening beneath them!!

haha, all the off season to get something decent knocked up to cure the age old steering problem, and they show up with a fuel tank. Impressive stuff Ducati, don't work too hard.

Not just a fuel tank

They tried other parts at the recent Jerez test, some of which will have been taken to Sepang

It's a test - the whole point is to try new ideas. They can hardly have tried them before the test can they?

Why some of you are so eager to put the boot into a manufacturer I've no idea. Would you prefer them gone and a further reduced grid?

Today's times mean nothing with half the day lost. They may have had other stuff to try. Last season Dovi was over a second off the fastest time in most tests on the mighty M1, so what does that tell you about test times?

So why not roll out the 2013 bike instead of last years machine? Oh yeah thats right, Gobmeier says there's nothing wrong with the bike and its all Valentino's fault. No need to try a new bike until the full potential of this one has been reached.....

....reached and beached Gobby, just fix the fkn steering you goose stepping sausage muncher

What 2013 bike?

They have 3 new riders on their bike. These are the riders along with Hayden who have to take the bike forward. So wouldn't you say it makes sense for them to start off with the current bike, get their thoughts on what it does and how they think it can be improved?
