I'm not one for poltical ranting
as I usually put my foot in it, but I think most peoples ideology is the same.
Strong harsh decisions need to be made, but I am pretty sure there isn't one person in the political spectrum who would be brave enough to do it,
I would given the chance, but then I have nothing to loose regarding a future career.
I think the majority of people will accept we need a certain amount of specialised immigration and accept only skilled workforce into the country. There doesn't seem to be much of a slow down of benefit immigrants which as everyone on here should no I'm not rascist, but if you come here then you must be able to house and fund you and any family members before arrival
As for our own home grown country men who choose not to work as they would be better off on benefit, then it is the system that is wrong and not the claimant. A benefit system is there to help when illness and bad luck happen and a safety net to help get oneself back on their feet and not a lifestyle choice. The majority of people do not wish to be on benefit it's just the media highlight the certain ones that do.
I know little regarding the ins and outs of the EU but I'm glad we are standing alone on that front and wish we could be more so than we are. A lot of people who voted all those years ago to join are the ones who are now complaining the loudest.
I believe, and someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but foreign aid can not just be stopped due to contracts which were made by other previous Governments but the same mistake shouldn't be made again.
It would be nice for the UK to be a great manufacturing country again but sadly that looks unlikely.
As for wealthy entrepreneurs then we need them, we have to personally be happy with our lot and put more effort into trying as much as we can to put in as much as we want out. Some will always do well and others not so.
So you see my basic knowledge of politics is limited but I do know that after reading horror stories of other countries I know how lucky I really am to be here. But also some basic hard facts have to be implemented pretty darn soon.
It's called being cruel to be kind and the harder the better for long term recovery and growth
