Pedrosa top of rain-hit Sepang test

Rain this morning in Sepang saw most of the track action taking place in the afternoon, with Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa fastest of the day with a 2'00.562 lap. With yesterday's fastest man Jorge Lorenzo concentrating on race simulations, no one was close to his pace of yesterday that saw him set a 2'00.282. There were minor crashes from Nicky Hayden...

I hope Marquez crashing 3 times isn't a taster of whats to come.

Dani looks miles ahead(again) and a rookie coming second on the same bike would tend to support that.. Jorges awesome simulations will count for nothing again this year if they are 3/4 tenths off the honda pace.. Rossi is still off the pace as well but not by too much. Cal looking very good but needs to do it in the races.. Roll on..

It's tough to call between George and The Admiral

I think they're difficult to split over Sepang 1 & 2, either Jorge or Dani would be difficult to catch in a race if they bolted at the start. Lorenzo seems to have more consistency at maintaining a higher pace for more laps but Pedrosa probably has the edge on ultimate velocity. With Marquez in the slipstream of these two it promises to be a year for Spain unless the race for 4th runs out of brakes/talent/ambition at the first corner.

Rossi crashed a bit in his rookie year, but, well, you know the rest.

I think you failed at the hope stage SM

I think it's a guarantee of what's to come, it's a rare lad that turns up and rides one of them there GP bikes and doesn't spend a good part of the learning curve flinging themselves at the track/scenery. Add his well established form for involving other riders and you have at least two of the main ingredients for a half baked disaster.

Baradl only had 4 dnf's last year as a rookie but imo Marquez can be a bit banzai which could upset the apple cart a bit. God I hope so. We can all speculate but untill the flag drops we can only hope that its a close fought season with (hopefully) 5 protaganists.
