Stoner DNFs in V8 debut

Casey Stoner's V8 debut came to an abrupt halt after a punctured tyre saw him retire from the first race while in 13th place. He got off to a good start, impressing by qualifying 12th around the Adelaide street circuit, then moving up to 10th by the first five laps. However, he then dropped back to 13th, losing time through the slower...

More on bikes and less on cars please."

In the last 2 weeks there have only been 3 articles posted with Stoner in the title but they've attracted 446 posts... mostly from people like yourself, Wosi & CaseyisHAUNTINGME.

In the same time there have been 4 articles about a 9 times champion still in the sport & his new Yamaha ride attracting 213 posts... less than half... you add all the comments on all the other stories & they only just beat that total... there is nobody who can provoke a reaction like Casey can even after he's left the sport!... JL the world champ?... not a chance... MM the new upstart?... nope!... while Casey's getting the hits they'll keep posting stories... it's money in the bank for MCN... & you're making it happen... let's face it, if you weren't interested in either the story or what people were saying you wouldn't have clicked on the link... unless you're really weird... in which case I think you'll find there are far weirder links around the internet to click on.

this is what i use now, typically because of the space used by MCN on irrelvalent articles about Stoner etc. Could have understud it if he'ed have won a major title or his first race. The moaning knob wasn't even that popular. Bikesportnews is what it says on the can.

Erm... it's his 1st 2 races in a completely new sport... a major title? As said there's a 9 times champion crashed out in his 1st 2 MotoGP races... I can understand your lack of interest.

He gets the hits... including yours.

Mallory Park

is in danger of closing to make way for housing development.  Sad if it closes it's been a road racing circuit in the traditional British style since 1956.  Apparently as the village is only about 500 metres away they have been restricted to 92 events per year - they have exceeded that and say the need to run 160 events per year to make it viable. There is a meeting tonight with residents to see if an agreement can be reached.  A house development firm has already made the circuit owners an offer pending the outcome of tonight's meeting.

Nothing to do with MotoGP I know but thought I'd put it up.

good bit of biking info that, unlike slagging casey off for his efforts and records, they just hate it that he is gone and more popular than rossi!! oopps did i say that outloud, honda desperate to get him back, the rest are at the back of the que, but anyways hegdy great post and stats you are very right, we all have our hero's problem is with these glory supporters like man u fnas, they hate losing and casey smashed rossi on many race days and vice versa, live with it thats why we love watching racing, but personally, they have nothing on foggy, 4 sbk title and 2 tt titles,1 world endurance. gp's aint the pinnacle imo it never has been. just more money and less track time.
