looking for first ped to buy, help someone?

hey everyone, i turned 16 recently and i am looking for a moped obviously 50cc to buy and i havent had much luck looking at the moment. my parents are quite set on up to £1000 max and i was wondering if anyone had any advice on peds to buy..im about 6 foot so small peds arent much of an option, ive looked on things like www.learnerlegal.co.uk and they had something called a longjia but ive never heard of them, theyre chinese and all the reviews i have seen are bad.

im preferably looking for a good brand new bike but we are also looking for used, also any good clothing and helmets? thanks for reading :smile

Which ped

Hi there,

Welcome aboard! You say you have got up to £1000 to spend. Is that for bike, clothing, insurance etc. Or just the bike? Give us a bit more of a breakdown. Is there a style of bike you prefer as well?

breakdown

the 1000 is pretty much just the bike and my dad has been looking at 700 for the ped max atm, but i reckon hed go higher

the style i guess is something like a yamaha aerox and mopeds like those, 50cc ofc

the helmet i can buy myself but itd be good if it all was 1000 not including insurance

I had

a Peugeot Ludix 50 when I first started, 12 month old and I think it cost £500. Actually kept that bike for some time (years) after my test because it were such a handy runabout, finally sold a year ago and got £500 for it as a trade-in. Dealer had that sold within 2 weeks.

Used every day (even on a 10 mile run to work and 10 miles back at one point, including running through winter), maintained by me, and never missed a beat - in 4 years, it had a set of front wheel bearings, a new back tyre, a headlamp bulb and a few spark plugs.

Not the most stylish maybe, but they do work well; go check them out.
