Garage invasion!

Someone has been through my garage opening all my boxes but looks to have taken a drill and that's it. There was plenty of other stuff to nab but they've taken only the drill.

I was at work with my bike so I assume they've gone for the bike, found it not there and had a quick look round for anything of value. They missed most of the good stuff.

The question is - my bike needs protecting. Hypothetically, would one get into trouble if a couple of flashbangs and a smoke grenade went off were the bike moved? Legally obtainable pyrotechnics, we're talking but 180+dB to alert me and screening smoke.

EDITED for spelling

Cute but

Not if it's attatched to you by it's Teeth!!

I've heard of some form of alarm that fires off blank shotgun cartridges if disturbed, think you may be in trouble if it damages the burglars hearing though. Mind you, if it did, he wouldn't be able to hear the cops (or anything else) coming:winkie:

Maglight

I don't need a maglight to equalise the situation. It is more than equalised.

As for the trip wire and blank 12 gauge shell - they're a tenner for the mine and a tenner for a bag of shells. I am tempted by it.

EDIT: Oh and last rotty I came across wanted to eat me. It was still cute.... as I was slowly and carefully retreating.

Anti-theft powder

and a water pistol. Home-alone stylee.

You can get this stuff which would help with any possible convictions.
But in terms of prevention, have you thought about a ground anchor?

I know you can get Flash Bangs for Airsoft & even paintball grenades so you could potentially pick up a couple of those then add tripwires to doors/windows so they go off when disturbed? Bit of fishing wire & some good anchor and you're sorted.

I don't believe either are illegal considering most decent airsoft/paintballing places sell them to over 18s. If in doubt, contact 101/local police to see what their "hypthetical" take on it would be.
