Deer are tasty vermin with no more inherent value than rats or politicians. The problem is that we've been convinced by generations of toffs and tree huggers that our natural instinct to hunt and devour these dim but delicious four-footed-feasts is somehow immoral, or above our station.

Muntjac and CWD (Chinese Water Deer) are non native species. I'm guessing those that are against the cull have never ridden the roads through Thetford forest.
For once, cars are not the number one risk for bikers...

A point well worth remembering if you are in an area heavily populated with deer is that your risks of hitting one are greatly increased on new roads. These animals are creatures of habbit and have set routes they have used for years. Just because we stick a new road across one of their paths does mean they will go away.
