new little track bike purchased :-)

unfortunately my shopping list has got to a little under 300.00 without tyres :-( So far list is:

Front fork seal and dust kit

Rear Break pads HH

Front calliper Piston Seals

Wheel bearings

Oil and filter

Iridium sparkies

Clutch Plates and cable

Front break pads HH

Throttle cable

Chain and sprocket

Inclusive of pp and it's only for a little VFR400

She's a little beaten up at the minute but apart from the above she's good to go go go :-)

Even taxed and MOT'd

I'd post piccies but left her in the back of my van as it was too bloody cold to put her in the garage earlier

Not certain to replace the can, it's standard

at the minute and quite a lot of DB restrictions flying about so could possibly stay, although a nice 2nd hand scorpion is on flea bay for minimal money:winkie:

I think I have had

all 400s except a VFR, so it will be interesting to see the comparisons

I'm not Barry Sheene on the track but never normally embarrass myself too much, I did overtake a tricked up R1 in the novice group once but it was on the corner:smile

Definitely get a can for it

My first 'big bike' was a VFR400, which I had for 4 years and started track days on it.  I loved it and wished I could have kept it, but unfortunately needed the money to buy my next bike.

The V4 sounds awesome with a can, just get one with a removable baffle so you can use it on noise restricted days.

babyblade a sorry tale follows...

I got a VFR400 NC30 a couple of years back, rode it for a while then stuck it in the garage.

Heavy things fell on it and smashed the fairing, mirror, screen. So I stripped off all the panels and a nasty misfire started, Got new panels ect, Had full service, fitted Braided lines, pads, filters. Then I started it up still a bloody misfire.

Looked in the tank.....RUST, drained tank, applied tank cleaner and sealer re-filled tank, started bike, took out to give it some, Still mis firing. cleaned pipes Carbs and by-passed vacueum fuel tap (Forum Tip). Put it all back together and guess what? Still running bad....... then the tank sprang a leak so I re finished it, No leak. Started the bike and it ran better....But, now the starter motor has locked solid.:upset:

they are a labour of love

and this is an NC24 not NC30, she is track only so she should be ok with all the servicing bits and bobs and a lot of TLC.

If not then Mavis will be going down the track in May, not relishing the thought of that at all:shock:

If you see me crying at Silverstone you know Victor VFR didn't come to fruition and Mavis MV didn't appreciate track time :-(
