Valentino Rossi impressed by ‘beautiful’ Circuit of the Americas

Valentino Rossi might have been slowest on the opening day of the private Honda and Yamaha MotoGP test at the new Circuit of the Americas yesterday, but it didn't stop the Italian from falling in love with the long and technical Texas circuit. On a first day dominated by a lack of grip, Rossi ended fifth behind Marc Marquez, Dani Pedrosa,...

Quite right mach3

They got got a brand new motor from HRC too. Although why they would bother with that when riders could just "adapt" to the one they had is baffling.

Bit of a coincidence though, Dani getting a new motor and chassis, then beating Jorge quite comfortably in the second half of the season.

3rd best bike Nostro? That's not much of a prediction given there are only three prototype bikes.

Here's another prediction that looks a little eh, poor

That Ducati is only a hair's breadth away from being the best machine on the grid

Why they running around with a patch work quilt development bike now if it was a "hair's breadth" away?

Talking of big breadths

and little girls lithping..

but yes, Dogreathdth, Ducati have a heap of work to do.  Rossi took them from a bike that could win and get multiple podiums in any conditions to a bike that even Hayden couldn't get a podium on.  It cost them $15m for that development.  Of course, that was after Ducati was being ridden by Stoner, the only (ex) motoGp rider to win at every circuit in the calendar when he was riding motoGp, so they had an unfair advantage: the best rider in the last five years.

Who can forget Aragon 2010, when Stoner - the only alien NOT to ride the cicuit before the motoGp race - blew the rest away?  I refer, of course, to those who actually follow the races rather than those who masturbate over the Rossi Twatter feeds.  Rossi is now sitting pretty for a breastaking 5th or so at COTA this year., if the force is with him - unless Elias gets a wildcard on a Vespa.

Rossi took them there did he?

No credit for the Yamaha successes, and all the blame for the Ducati failures? That about the size of it is it?

Was there also a flash of yellow on the grassy knoll, and a lanky Legionnaire, spear in one hand, sun and moon shield in the other spotted scampering away from Cavalry Hill?

You been on the sauce, or are all those spelling lisps attempted jokes?

There's an edit function you know.

Masturbate? Good grief son, you're the one getting yourself in a lather over Stoner. Miss him do you?

Yeah Stoner's great, and he had/has an incredible talent for being able to go very fast very soon, but jesus he's got some flaws too.

Best rider over the last five years has been Lorenzo, period. Results don't lie.

best rider of the last 5 years

is lorenzo, no doubt. 2 titles to 1 trumps stoner's 28 race wins to 23, and against rossi 23 race wins to 17 with titles even at 2 each beats rossi.

I am fairly confident he will continue to resist any temptation to ride for ducati.
