What about his Germany crash, and the awful result after it, doofan? What was that, if not head trouble?

on another thread dogbert , he rode 2 perfect seasons with a very close to the edge riding style, one of them on a bike other riders were lucky to ride within a second of his times. If those 2 championships were all he had in him, which he may have thought himself hence him deciding to retire whilst leading the 2012 championship, so be it. I don't see that the sachsenring crash had anything to do with pressure in any case; arrogance and impetuosity perhaps. As has been said, his only self induced race crash for honda.

Bultoboy is of course right; in the absence of substantive criticism (look at threads concerning stoner in 2010, all to do with his riding errors on the ducati and his failure to "develop" the ducati, which few of you have had the grace to withdraw whilst vilifying ducati for failing valentino) you guys make things up. Your cod psychology has absolutely no status in reality; I have my doubts about psychology as practiced by actual psychologists for that matter.

I don't blame valentino for the the 2011 and 2012 bikes, but I don't think stoner deserves blame for those bikes or the 2010 bike either. Before that, I think ducati did pretty well considering their resources as opposed to the resources of their competitors. If you weren't putting the boot into stoner when he was down, my apologies for  grouping you with those who did; there was rather a lot of that, perhaps explaining while not justifying the current over the top rossi bashing.

   
As for stoner retiring, he didn't want to do it any more, end of story. People, including more than a few people with whom I have been personally acquainted, being paid millions of dollars to do high pressure jobs and who have coped with the pressure  decide to retire and smell the roses all the time.
 
All credit to those who have kept it going at the pinnacle of the sport for longer, in valentino's case obviously much longer.

I didn't 'dismiss' Nakamoto. I was referring to his comment that Stoner refused the new chassis 'which was better'.

Nakamoto's opinion about the chassis being better is based upon the fact that Pedrosa and Bradl liked it better than the current one. So how does that make it "better". Since when have all riders had the same preferences when it comes to components? Do both riders in a team use exactly the same components and set up?

What I said was how can Nakamoto state conclusively that the chassis was better as he doesn't have the riding skill to evauate either. I refer to Laguna because Stoner went there on the back of two bad results and smashed Pedrosa using the old chassis. By your reckoning, for Stoner, bad results cause mind problems, therefore he shouldn't have had the result he did. Neither should hhe have won on the old chassis because it was the wrong decision.

His title challenge was hardly failing by Laguna.
