Rossi: 'Ducati can't deal with criticism'

Valentino Rossi has revealed more about his fractious relationship with Ducati in MCN's exclusive new interview (out on Wednesday). The 34-year-old's comments throw new light on the team's inability to make progress back up the grid – a problem he says stems from their inability to trust its riders when they point out a problem with the bike. He says in the...

Funny...

It is funny how everybody compares what CS did in 2007 with a 2007 bike vs other 2007 bikes with what Vale did in 2011-2011 with a better 2007 engine and a 2010-2011 chassis vs 2010 - 2011 complete new bikes... Ducati had the edge back then but afterwards their R&D went fishing also...

It is also very funny how everybody forgets that CS had the best of the pack bike in 2007 (Bridgestones + Top Speed) and that same bike declined over the years finishing 4th and 4th...

It is also very funny to see how people also do not like to admit that the Honda is the best bike since 2010 (seamless), Lorenzo won because of stability, talent and lack of competition from team mate while the 2 Honda rider's were cutting each others points...

It is also very funny how people forget what VR brought to this sport since the 90's, it is very sad that young boys new to this sport respect nothing about history.

Closing, to all Aussies out there: Doohan was a warrior, came back with a fucking shuttered leg when evrybody had already erased him from the charts and quicked ass... Stoner is no near Doohan regarding fighting spirit specially under pressure, that's why he went fishing... Do not underrestimate Rossi, I wouldn't be surprised if he is keeping a couple of hundreds of tenths up his sleeve for racing day...

Agree 100% mate...nice post. I also think rossi is too experienced to risk season ending injury in pre-season. When the lights go out for real, he will make even marquez's wild abandon look conservatitive. And i pity the fool who bets on anyone but rossi for this years mugello win!

how people complain about bias then give their own opinion as fact.

There is a mis-comprehension about Rossi's role as a  rider.  Rossi is a rider not an engineer he doesn't go to Ducati and request a new frame or swinging arm or any other parts. What a rider does is tell the engineer what the bike 'feels' like under racing conditions - the engineer (Brugess) then interprets that info into what mechanical changes are needed to fix that problem - he then requests parts or changes from Ducati.  Ducati produce what is requested (by the engineer) and the rider goes out to test the new parts and gives his feedback on whether the bike feels better or worse.

Comprehension Bob needs an open mind something which you and your little bum sniffing lapdog Prince of Repsol don't have.

"cutting each others points"

I really wonder about the people who make this argument, do you have any grasp of arithmetic at all? If you took Stoner out of the 2012 championship, Pedrosa's relative points difference to Lorenzo ends up about 5 better. Whoop-di-do. And ... the championship standings at the end of the season only have two positions. "First" and "not first". The only people who care about 4th or 8th and think this constitutes some sort of performance measure are people who can't form their own opinions. They probably think Ducati hired Dovi over Cal because he was doing better in the championship standings.

Old Tales

There is nothing new about riders' views of Ducatiand vice versa. Remember Rossi avoiding the eyties for his 2004 mount? This was because Capirex told him that Ducati never listened to riders, and it would be many years before the Duke improved. Unfortunately, Ducati test riders test in Europe, while Jap companies test mainly in Japan. Consequently, Duke have more (misplaced) faith in their testers, whereas Big H and Yam realise that features based on test results may need to be modified for the European circuits. What is noticeable is that the Japs are now sending testers to Europe, so expect more friction in the Rising Sun camps.

So you don't think that 2 team mates fighting for the win do not spoil each others targets? (and I don't say they should'nt, of course they are rivals but they made it easier on JL).

Lorenzo was - and still is in a clearly inferior bike. He knows it, Rossi knows it, Yamaha knows it, everybody knows it... except the Orange followers that don't see the advantage.

ps. Hedgehog, 7th with VR and probably 7th again with AD this year and 10th next one if they don't speed up... i did not forgot about Rossi's spell, it's called lack on R&D... from the factory not the rider as Saturn explained very well.

Masao Furusawa, General Manager of the YMC Technology Development Division: "Racing needs a good rider, bike and organisation - otherwise you can not have a win," commented Furusawa. "An exceptional rider has come to Yamaha and all I can say is thank you to him and his crew.Of course there are many other people involved in the project; other riders, engineers, staff and sponsors and I'd also like to thank them. Valentino really is the genius behind the bike".

Of course some of the experts in this forum know better about VR development skills...

seriously doubts valentino's greatness el diablo. Being a fan of his does not necessarily make you correct about everything else though, either concerning the universe  in general or motogp in particular, as seems to be a belief common to you and others.
