It snow fun

Morning all, I've got 100 miles to ride home today. Any tips from those hardy enough to do long distance in the snow?

Cheers Snev

No clean undies, already fell foul of the yellow snow but I can safely say that I will not be anywhere near Bradford.

What

Make that avatar go away!

Be prepared to use a lot of clutch to smooth things out, avoid the front brake unless it's clear tarmac. Take a break or two as it's hard work. I once did 2 and a half hours in the snow (ironically going to Bradford) and was pretty exhausted afterwards.

Oh and don't be intimidated by car drivers. They usually back off when they go past a rolled 4x4.

is the journey absolutely necessary can't you doss somewhere until tomorrow when hopefully things might have improved a little?

I've never ridden in snow apart from on a C90 many moons ago, and never again

Good luck and take care

Well I made it!

Cheers folks!

Wasn't that bad actually, motorways only had slight snow drifts and people were mostly being careful. At least I've got my snow wings now.
I had warm enough layers on to keep me from freezing all the way home without needing to stop (and light enough not to look like the Michelin man).
Hot grips came into their own as did the Michelin Road Pilot 3's, awesome tyres. Was quite an enjoyable adventure!

Lol

I was expecting it to take a lot longer than normal but in the end I made it in just over 2 hours which I thought was pretty good considering the conditions.
