the blackbird broke down today outside York. Called Paul at the workshop, he came and recovered the bike and I, tried to get me going again (I was on the way to Penrith). When it became apparent that it was not easily fixable he brought me and the bike home. This is the second time I've used Paul. Firstly, as a mechanic but also the recovery and service was excellent value. He's based on the outskirts of York and his number is 07881798445.

pesky

blackbirds, the only bike ive ever owned i was glad to let go of, and not once have i regretted that decision, even if i took a nose dive on near enough two grand in the straight swop deal with the suzuki1400, it may be older and not quite as fast but the suzook is better on fuel, fun to ride and can be ridden all day long at just above legal speeds and no cramps, wrist legs etc.

I love

mine Chris. Didn't think i would, but the near endless power and all round ability do it for me.

The ring antenna on the hiss system packed up, she'll soon be back up and running

phil

for a big tourer  it has one major flaw, its useless on fuel not that im for ever looking at gauges , but i think 140 miles on a tank full of shells finest is a little less than piss poor, and thats not even giving it too much, wind it up to above the ton and ffs my eyes were watering, the 1400 last time out clocked up 230 on a tank full, admittedly it was squeky bum clenching while over in mid wales at night, but after the fill up revealed it had another 2 litres still in the tank, i actually emptied the tank on the bird from my house to leeds a distance of 44 miles i was pushing on a bit but ffs there comes a time when its just got to go.
