Scotty crew - route advice

Advice on routes north of the border up to Glasgow

will be travelling from Penrith via Alston and Brampton to Gretna and Dumfries BUT THEN WHAT

straight up to Glasgow to head north or

Balmaclellan and then onto Ayr then Glasgow

or

Newtown Stewart and Givan and then Glasgow

Or is there some other cunning route not obvious - dont want to head east as we want to travel down on the east side.

'Inverness to Ullapool' ...is a great road ...but the roads get even better north of Ullapool.

Get yourself back up here and do these roads again. ...You owe it to yourself.:winkie:

That is a 'stonking' route packed with fantastic roads. You are going to have a lot of fun. :winkie:

Yes, you are right of course....:winkie:

I'm always in a hurry though to get back north and west of Glasgow to my favourite playground. :winkie:

The A76...

from Dumfries to Kilmarnock is not a bad road if you want to avoid the motorway to Glasgow. But after that you either go through Kilmarnck and up to Erskine or motorway into Glasgow or around it.

A75-A76.
