Excess excess!

These crooks in suits that call

There selves insurance firms are all money making tosspots. They tempt you with the cheapest quote but be carefully and check how much your excess is ,in my mates case just downsized from a cb1000r to a ncx700 ,told Swindon his intentions only to find that the firm that covered him for his 1000r couldn't now quote him for his smaller bike ? So told them to cancel the policy with them as most people would ,they then charged him a cancellation fee for the pleasure ,reqouted him which turned out to be MORE than the 1000r original price and then the icing on the cake and now want to charge an excess of £1000,what's the matter with these twats they  truly are on another fucking planet ,and you wonder why people don't bother with it

For as long as people keep buying insurance based only on the cheapest quote then insurance companies will continue to sell in that manner.  When looking for insurance the best deal is not always the cheapest policy and basic economics will tell you that if they are cutting revenues somewhere, ie in the up-front cost, then they will try to make it up in other areas such as additional admin costs and high excess charges. What appears to be cheapest policies up front are often not in the long run - as has been noted many times on these forums.
