Cal Crutchlow looks ahead to Qatar curtain-raiser

British rider Cal Crutchlow is confident he is ready to pose a consistent podium threat in the 2013 MotoGP world championship. The Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider appeared relaxed and confident as he chatted to the media in the Losail International Circuit paddock in Qatar earlier today ahead of the start of his third season in MotoGP. Its a British thing, when you watch him in interviews he has his tongue firmly in his cheek. IMO he should criticise Yamaha as Bradl got a full factory machine so should he, to help in the constructors championship. Come on Yamaha pull your finger out give the boy a factory bike.

Cal at Qatar

Thanks Bennytherev and was worth writing then! Now we learn Cal is again pushing his way to the front row in FP1, so lets keep our fingers crossed for Sunday.....and I agree about the tongue in cheek thing with Cal. His interview humour is too subtle for most non-Brits, which is an endearing national trait as far as I'm concerned. I went to Qatar 2 seasons back, in the hope of seeing No46 do some magic in his first Ducati ride. And the main memory I have was the surprise at how well Cal did in his debut. Sadly neither of these fellows moved on a great deal from then. But I feel sure all that will change for this season. Actually, now I think of it, the main memory was that spectators were only allowed in the grandstands on the start finish straight....nowhere else.....and there were almost no locals in the stand.......just Europeans and Japanese. Even though it was around £12 to get in (!), Losail is better on TV.
