Jerry Burgess: We need to improve to challenge Jorge Lorenzo

Valentino Rossi’s crew chief Jerry Burgess believes Jorge Lorenzo’s dominant victory in the opening MotoGP round in Qatar last Sunday was proof of how much Rossi has to improve to consistently battle with the Spaniard for victories in 2013. Lorenzo might have made the perfect start to the defence of his crown with a runaway success at the Losail International Circuit,...

JB is like dog, he put his tail between legs and came back to Yamaha.

The man who can make shits to fly and win races.

Biggest mouth from Cal.

This season JL make him to go back to doghouse, like his rider

Well JB Jorge is the champion and every rider in the paddock wants to beat him I'll say it again if #46 hadn't messed up his qualifying it would have been a Yamaha duel at the front with the rest most likely chasing shadows.

Pretty straight forward answer from shame in finishing second to jorge, especially with the heroics of getting there. Jb doesnt want to give away secrets, but any who watched laguna knows what the strategy is when trying to beat a metromic rider...upset their rythm! Make them change their line, brake where they dont want to and frustrate them so they arent smooth. Dont let them get "settled into the groove"...rossi may not have been able to beat jorge in quatar, but pestering him and making him ride defensively would have slowed him down a bit...look at dani...marquez pestered him all race and dani couldnt get settled. Of dani wasnt having a great weekend either. Rossi is still adjusting to a bike that"can" so a second place in the first race is fantastic... I think all 4 will have their "tracks" this year so the key will be to get as many point on your bad tracks to stay in contention....oh yeah and dont crash or get hurt. Jorges been lucky for a few years now...someone else is due for lady luck's blessing....time will tell

I don't know why JB is getting too worked up about the victory of JL. In the latter stages of the race when Rossi had a clear track, his times weren't far off Jorges early pace (when he was trying to get away from the pack). Also one of the fastest laps of Rossis was the last lap, when tyres must of been worn. As GYTR says, if Rossi hadn't made that mistake, it would of been an interesting duel.

Firebird ...

... the whole point is, as WZ says of Lorenzo: "He did a 56.0 at the end and he had a 7.5s lead, so he had some more in his pocket it if he needed it." In contrast, by the end of the race, Rossi's pockets were as empty as his fuel tank my dear boy.
