Or how about completely standard road bikes every thu before GP weekend begins with a single 20 lap fun race to properly promote the factories sports bikes they sell. Wing mirrors, number plate hangers the lot. Add some fun to a serious championship. Winner has to sell a set of his leathers on eBay.
