Mineral or synthetic

Read with interest last weeks MCN column on Oil advice centre. I have a different query which hopefully you can give advice on.

My Buell xb12x has mineral oil specified. Having read your item, it would seem Synthetic oil may be better - running cooler - Buell issue better performing etc etc. Can I use syntheic as apposed to Mineral and if so which one would be best?

You can use 20/50 mineral,10/40,15/50 semi/synthetic or 20/50 fully synthetic.

What mileage are you doing per year?

I do around 2500. Although I often go away and do approx 3k over a trip of 300-400 miles per day.
