new honda v4

in this weeks mcn on page 5 who ever wrote the piece casually drops in that the projected price of the new v4 is likely to be 100K

are you having a laugh.if thats the case i think we should burn down every honda dealership in the uk.manufacturers of all sorts of goods seem to think its fine to dictate to punters these days, and subliminally condition them to whats coming by getting the press to do their bidding by putting their ideas out there so by the time the actual product hits the floor everyone just accepts it as is.
honda and other bike manufacturers need to remember their roots, and in more recent times who bought their sportsbikes and show a bit of loyalty to them.
i personally cannot see how aprilia can sell a v4 with a top level electronics package on it for sub 15k yet a huge company like honda cannot.
i sincerely hope this price estimate is just another journo hoping a manufacturer produces an exclusive, unobtainable to most, bike they can have a test ride of to boost their ego down the pub.

I doubt...

that Honda will be expecting to see them on the floor of local dealerships. They'll be pre-order only like the Ducati Desmocedici.....and they weren't exactly a snip when new either....but it is a bit steep.Wayne Rooney would have to put a couple of days work in for that kind of money.

Honda V4.

I heard it was Honda's intention to make these bikes available for new MotoGP teams to buy (at huge cost), bolstering the grid and pushing the CRT bikes out.  People got the idea they were making a V4 for the road and Honda let that story run and run.

The root of it is honda's relationship with Dorna

Remember the we'll leave Motogp if you make us use your Ecu. with Dorna then buying wsbk?

Well there is the core of the whole problem, with dorna expected to Dumb down wsbk from next year expect an awful lot of high spec high cost "superbikes" in order to bypass the new rules!

look at MCN's predictions of the new R1. do you really think seamless gearboxes are going to come cheap when they can't even give Crutchlow one?

The question is, do Yamaha want to give him one??

Why would Yamaha want a satellite team beating their works team? Of course they aint going to give them the top mods for them to faster when they are already showing a glimpse of a podium........ so to speak.

Anyways.....Sorry for that. Back to the Honda V4 thing.
