Planes Trains and Recovery Trucks

Well it started off well....Picked the Aprilia over the rest, sun shining full tank of fuel and the entire day to enjoy.....what could go wrong ?:huh:

How about a duff clutch servo jobbie, a dead phone, an expired RAC membership....for starters.:upset:

Anyway 13 hours later I'm back...minus one Aprilia.:upset::upset::upset::upset::upset:

Nothing too expensive it was a perished clutch piston seal which caused the fail.... it went pretty quickly, If you have ever tried stopping a Big V Twin with no clutch in a gravel strewn carpark you'll know how much fun it is !

Trouble was I was in the middle of nowhere on Exmoor had a lift from a car driver to get some Clutch Fluid , another lift back, spent an hour and a half trying to re fill the system and another hour before I could Phone RAC , My membership had ceased recently so had to arrange a Recovery to a local bike shop get a Taxi to the train station wait 2 hours for it then 2 changes till home.

Happy Days.

Oh, snev.

What a day. Funny, once it's over, but torture at the time.

Better luck on your next outing. Check your insurance doesn't include breakdown recovery. Save a few quid on RAC fees, maybe.
