Jerez MotoGP: Pedrosa wins as Marquez and Lorenzo collide

Dani Pedrosa rode to an easy race victory at his home GP at Jerez, but the real talk of the race was a dramatic last corner collision between rookie Marc Marquez and defending champion Jorge Lorenzo. Lorenzo led early in the race, but a hard charging Pedrosa soon came through and got away, pulling out a gap right away as Lorenzo...

Interesting stuff wosi unlike most of the shyte I've just read, that's time I'll never get back, george its a waste of your life also... Jorge doesn't ride the front end if they have moved the biased away which they would if they were making it for Jorge last years frame may help they certainly haven't got the balance right yet... Be interesting to see if it happens tomoz and what the result is. (ps Dani used last years bike at the start of 2011 and 2012, tiny margins can make a big difference depending on whose style they suit).. The yam frame looked a little too specific when we saw it in preseason.

Good to see 3 winners in the first 3 races

And long may it continue, battling until the final round in Valencia. Boring race though, which was a shame as the first two were epic and I was hoping for more at Jerez. Great to see the last corner still claiming paint, a bit like Assen, another classic track!

rossi looks like he's just given way to the new breed, he knows his time is done and he's on his way out. Like a boxer past his prime we wont see him back dominating. The field is too packed full of talent unlike when rossi was on top

SMILING ASSASSIN

...well it didn't take long did it ? Three races to be exact and despite his prodigious talent and looking for the best part of the race as though he'd really matured, Marquez has eventually clattered another rider...Lorenzo was restrained in his comments on TV but will no doubt be livid, the neat, precise rider he is. After Lorenzo co-hosted the cast of those originally lambasting Simoncelli (with Stoner), it'll be interesting to see if they try and publicly gang up on MM (reigning Moto2 champ and currently leading the MotoGP world championship) - has he got the balls to take him on on track AND in the paddock ? MM is infinitely skilled but he's also cocky and at risk of outright recklessness and may stop at NOTHING to grab the points needed ...admire the talent, but recognise that he's possibly also an egotistical ruthless young buck with a shameless conscience...! The good thing in the MGP camp however, is that it's put the cat right amongst the pigeons !

The bold and the brutiful

Marquez's pass was hard but racing, Lorenzo left the door open and Marquez came on through, no second invitation required.  Lorenzo's mistake was not backing off, sliding behind Marquez and taking the drive to the line fairly easily while Marquez struggled to pull it back from the edge.

Meantime, Rossi has settled in rather well as Yamaha's resident advertising sock-puppet and I don't doubt that it will be long before we see his bike decked out in one-time advertising spots. First up will be Durex - a natural choice since he's making such a cock of things.

Boring race?

If you think that was a boring race then you may as well not watch motorcycle racing. Just because there isn't an overtake every lap doesn't make it a boring race. I was certainly entertained every lap. However Moto2 doesn't seem to be as exciting as it was before Marquez came into the class in 2011, only two manufacturers are really going for it and one of them can only be ridden by Marquez, and he isn't even in the class anymore.

Tired of Tyres deciding the fight!

Good riding by all who stayed on board. Dani, big win for you and Honda.

From what I can see the single tyre rule or perhaps the tyres being made for MOTOGP are deciding the races. This is crap. Its ment to be about the rider, maybe the bike, but the tyres???? FFS

Arguably one of the best riders in the world on a worn tyres (Rossi) could not exploit any skill advantage in thiis race, as he is front tyre dependant. AKA he rides the bike through the front, and the Yamaha is set up the same way.

Bridgestone seem to have made a front tyre that works in a very narrow band of grip level, aka lots of it. For those wondering why in WBSK we see lots of bikes able to perform at the same pace its only because of the tyres. The Perrilli's certainly have a wider window of operation, probably they are not the same in ultimate grip but who cares as long as one guy each weekend does not have it all over the others.

Dorana fix it and fast, our you'll make all of us watch WSBK.... Oh thats right you own that to and don't care!

Don't worry, Jarvis is getting a good deal out of Rossi, whatever they pay him. Crutchlow is a good rider, but does he sell motorcycles???.....Nowhere near as many as Rossi.

3 races and rossis finished?

Thats a stupid thing to say...he is behind sure, but there are 15 races left and after testing the better 2012 bike( crutchlow the wanker complains about riding the 2012 championship bike...it looks like its better and cal is going to look foolish complaining about it when jorge and vale hop on it and go faster than they are now...rossi will win races and hopefully dani will win title...jorgeband marquez will battle and someone will crash...rossi will laugh as he takes advantage...probably in lemans...
